This book is just as incredible as the first two in the series. Heather Lyons knocks my reading socks right off!

**WARNING: Contains spoilers for the first two books in the series. Do NOT read if you haven’t read A Matter of Fate and A Matter of Heart. However, there are no spoilers for A Matter of Truth**
I have never, ever read a more intense love triangle than the one in this amazing series. I love love triangles. I read them all the time. I love the angst of them. Yet, I almost couldn’t handle this one! Chloe is madly in love and also soul mates with not one guy but TWO. And they’re TWINS. It’s a breathtaking and unique story that has me obsessed. This book was so intense that the friends I was with kept stopping to ask me if I was okay. Apparently, I looked like I was super depressed and/or in pain. And then after I finished (in three hours, mind you), someone told me I looked dead. I WAS JUST EMOTIONALLY DRAINED OKAY. Seriously though, these books. And those feels! I’m way too emotionally invested in this series. I am too in love with Chloe, Jonah, and Kellan. And some new awesome characters that were just too sweet to not instantly adore. Heather Lyons just has a way of writing that sucks me in, chews me up, and spits me out, leaving me a freaking mess.
“The truth is, I stayed with him, despite feeling like I was being torn in two because I always knew, deep down, who was best for me. And I ran because I thought it was best for him.
I love him.
And it’s time I let him know that.”
A Matter of Truth starts right where A Matter of Heart left off. With Chloe’s dramatic exit. She left without telling anyone because she thought it would be better for Jonah and Kellan, who were being torn apart over their love for her. Actually, I was relieved she left. I kept waiting for it to happen. A girl can only take so much intensity and stress for so long. Hell, she was even getting ulcers over it. She (and I) needed to take a breather from all the madness that is her life with the craziness of two Connections and the responsibilities that comes with being the Creator. I knew that this time away, although not done properly at all, would help Chloe discover who she is and what she wants.
“I’m terrified of losing him, beyond scared of what giving him up like this might mean to the both of us. But I can’t let Fate dictate this moment. I can’t let the Connection between us be what defines our relationship. He deserves better. So very much better.”
Yet, this doesn’t mean I wasn’t dying along with her with all the time she spent away from Jonah and Kellan. We get to meet a new character or two while Chloe goes off into hiding, and I have accepted them into the family. It’s impossible not to. A lot of the reason I read so fast was because I couldn’t wait to see how Chloe ends up back in Annar and how she reunites with the twins. I was so nervous. And, of course, excited. She’s not complete without them, and neither am I. The story line deepens and as usual, I love the complexity and depth that Heather adds without confusing anyone. The flow of her writing and the plot is spot on.
“I wish I could be the girl you deserve. Gods, I wish that so very much… You are one of the most important people to me in all the worlds. I am so blessed that I have gotten to know you, love you…be loved by you…It’s a gift. One of the best gifts I could ever receive.”
I was very satisfied with how this book kept up the consistency of the series. It is just as heart-breaking and heart-melting as the first two. I really enjoyed watching Chloe grow up. Up to this point, everything was just thrown onto her. She had no real way of holding on to who she is and she was really drowning. I’m glad she was able to figure out who she is, I mean, I could only handle watching her hurt herself and the two boys for so long… She really knows what she wants this time around. And it was amazing to see her fight for it. A lot of her character growth takes place here.
“I promise that I will always be here for you when you need me. I promise to be your friend, your confidant, and the person you can always count on. I promise you that you have my heart and my loyalty. I promise you that you will always have my love.”
Sigh… Jonah and Kellan Whitecomb. The hottest, sweetest, most perfect set of twins ever. Both boys have me clutching at my heart from the things they do, the things they say, the way Chloe hurts them, the way Chloe loves them, the way they love each other, the way they love Chloe, the way they hide their feelings and internalize everything, and flat out how amazing they are. I couldn’t even decide which one I liked more until the end of book two. And even it can be up for debate. I only love him a smidge more than the other. I don’t want to give it away, but based on the quotes I used in this review, it’s definitely obvious whether I’m Team Jonah or Team Kellan. I was also happy to see how they’ve grown through the series. I was satisfied with the events that took place when Chloe returned. I think it’s extremely important to note that the whole series has me in love even with the lack of steamy scenes. Until this book, of course… Wow. Guess I shouldn’t have expected anything less from such a talented writer.
“This is love. This is true love. This isn’t Connection love, or Fate love, or anything other than an old fashioned case of hopeless, deliriously in love. I know the difference now.”
I flew through this book. There’s no other way to read the Fate books. It’s like full-speed ahead and you hope there’s not a cliff at the end. Even if there isn’t, the amazing-ness of the books makes you feel like you want to fling yourself off a cliff anyway. I am too excited to go read Beyond Fate, which is Jonah’s POV of A Matter of Fate. Not to mention, there’s book four and Kellan’s POV of A Matter of Heart. Squee. I don’t know what to do with my life until the next books…
“Everything you mentioned earlier, I want to be able to come home and lean on you. Know that you’ve got my back. I want to be the same for you. I want us to be lovers. Best friends. Partners. Because, it’s you I want. Not my Connection, not a Creator, but just Chloe Lilywhite.”

Another heartbreaking, heartwrenching,heartfelt installment of the Fate series.A decision is made, the truth is revealed and the fallout is dealt with. I loved every emotionally charged moment of this book and I’m desperate to see the final twists and turns of the story as it nears its conclusion.

The moment we’ve all been dreading is here. Chloe picks the boy. This latest book in the Fate series took my heart and squeezed all emotion out of it, good and bad, expected and unexpected. I will of course refrain from dropping a single clue to whom she chooses she chooses, but by the time the choice is made, my emotions were already on edge. A Matter of Fate is really centered around Chloe’s growth… the journey to realize her own truth.
When we finished A Matter of Heart, Chloe leaves it all behind. With mounting pressure, crippling heartache and declining health, she escapes to find herself… find her strength… and find the truth deep within her heart. In Alaska, she unexpectedly finds friends, family and most importantly perspective. Heather Lyons introduces one of my very favorite new characters, Will Dane. You guys are seriously going to love this boy. Meet Will.
Will is funny and kind and has become Chloe’s closest friend. Will harbors his own pain and despite not knowing Chloe’s predicament, they seem to connect on a deeper, fundamental level. They both endure life with an underlying heartache… a relentless constant pain that only the other can soothe with understanding and support.
Chloe finds herself cherished, loved and enveloped by a sense of home that she never expected to find so far away from Kellan and Jonah. And I think that’s just exactly what Chloe needed… to be away from the factors and people who caused her so much pain and insecurity, despite how much they loved her and despite how much she loved them.
When trouble finds Chloe, the time to face the consequences of her escape arrive and she’s also forced to come clean to Will and her father, Cameron about her past. As much as I enjoyed reading about her time in Alaska, once characters I know and love re-appear on the page, my heart was hammering in anticipation of what was to come. Three books into the series, I am seriously, deeply invested in what happens to these people, and I loved that this time, she’s going back with fire ignited within herself, leveraging a strength not solidified before. She’s ready to take it all on.
And OMG, when she finally comes face to face with Kellan and Jonah, I was an apprehensive mess, ready to fall apart, wanting to read faster and at the same time shut my eyes to the words she would say. Regardless of whether you are a Kellan fan or a Jonah fan, when the moment came, it shattered me into a million tiny pieces. I was simply heartbroken.
I was happy that Chloe had finally made a choice, but felt laden with sadness over the truly sucky situation (*shakes angry fists at Heather!!!*). But in the end, I have to say I felt it went the way it probably should go and the story continues beyond this pivotal moment with not a happily ever after, but rather an unexpected plot twist that left me mouth agape in incredulous shock.
Everything is a big hot mess, the Elders are still out there and Chloe’s decision didn’t give her the result she counted on. This book is teeming with emotion, yes, much of it achingly real and afflicting, but there are also moments of rightness and love. With each book released in the series, I feel like I understand the motivations and feelings of each character even more, because all three of our protagonists (Chloe, Kellan and Jonah) are complex, multidimensional people with a profound capacity to love. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I have loved every single book in this series.

It is VERY rare for me to rate an entire series 5 stars across the board. Heather Lyons has written a series so incredibly fabulous that I’m unable to give it anything less than 5 stars. Frankly I’m stingy when it comes to giving a book a high rating because my standards are extremely high but she exceeds my expectations every time without fail. The Fate Series gets better with each book, as if that’s even possible, right? She continually outdoes herself, A Matter of Truth blew me away; it was an emotional rollercoaster ride that left me completely shattered and I loved every word. New characters are introduced and old ones are re-introduced, all complex and all with their own harrowing story to tell.
I fell in love with Chloe because I had clearer understanding of her motives; she was evolving as human being, a Creator and as a woman. There was something about her journey in this book that made me feel content and I think it had to do the people who come to care for her while she’s living in Alaska; she needed those people as much they needed her.
The love triangle only intensifies in AMoT but somehow Chloe, Jonah and Kellan are all trying to work through it but regardless, my heart felt all the guilt and hurt. I think what made this particular book so fantastic is that both Jonah and Kellan are worthy of love and one isn’t made out to be a villain but instead it’s just the unfortunate reality that fate has dictated.
“Sometimes, a girl doesn’t need a bad boy like so many stories tell her she does. She doesn’t need to redeem him, and he doesn’t’ need to redeem her. Sometimes a girl doesn’t need a tortured artist or the recovering playboy, but somebody who helps balance her out, someone who makes sure her feet stay on the ground when life is tough and lift up into the air when her lips find his. She needs somebody smart and funny and comfortable and exciting all at the same time.”
You will be captivated, moved and possibly even stressed to the max but I promise you that you will enjoy every word as you have with the previous books and if you haven’t read this series, don’t wait a moment longer.

I LOVE this series and I think A Matter of Truth is my favorite out of all the books I have read so far...
When A Matter of Heart left off, Chloe left Annar and her identity behind, along with everything else she loved. She couldn't handle the stress and it was literally making her sick. The only way she saw out of the mess was to leave it all behind and give herself some time away to figure things out and let the two boys she loves the most heal their relationship with one another.
This whole book is centered on what Chloe wants, she is finally choosing. She realizes that Fate may play a roll but SHE has control over her future and what she wants out of life. Of course there is some drama, action, and gut punching moments but she is FINALLY coming to terms with her life and everything she wants out of it.
I watched her grow in this story and I fell even more in love with her character.
There were twists and turns I did not see coming, some I did and there were new characters introduced that I fell head over heels in love with. Some aheeemm steamy moments that I was sweating and loving and thinking FINALLY!!!!
Seriously phenomenal story telling!
This whole series is so addictive, raw, emotional, and action packed that I can't help but
LOVE IT!!
I love the drama, sweet moments, and the whole concept of this series. I hope one day a big time producer reads this series and puts it on the big screen because I want to see it come to life. Can you guys imagine how phenomenal this series would be as a movie??

I picture it in my mind every time I sit down to read it.
I usually hate love triangles, seriously hate all the angst associated with them. The emotions are too much sometimes and I can't take it. But Heather does something amazing and intertwines the love triangle with magic, love, power, myths, legends, and makes reading it a little better to digest, even if it goes down really rough and heartbreaking, it still goes down and you are still a mess but at least you are enjoying the flavor.
There are times where I want to get off this carousel ride Heather puts me on because
I can't take it!!
I literally have to prepare myself before reading one of her books. I have to prep myself for the emotions that I am going to feel and the ups and down that are inevitably going to turn me into an insane person.
I want to take these characters from her and never give them back because she doesn't treat them right but at the same time I know she is doing this on purpose. She is a creative genius and I just have to suck it up and have faith that she knows what she is doing... HUMMPPHH!!
Even when I am impatient for a certain character to get his/her HEA..

I didn't want this book to end. I wanted it to keep going. I could have read it forever and never got tired of it.
I was SO MAD at the ending!!
I wanted to twat kick Heather really hard to make her feel the amount of pain my heart went through after I got to the end!
I was an emotional wreck and now I have to impatiently wait until March before the next book is out...
I want to tell her to take her time because I know books are not written in a day. But at the same time I want to be a selfish book trollop and tell her to HURRY the HELL up because she left my emotions unstable and I am not responsible for the emotional outbursts I will produce in the upcoming months due to her cliffhanger!!!
It's all your fault Heather, I love you and your books but DAMMIT I'm still mad at you!

I look forward to more books by this incredible author and I hope more and more people read this amazing series... It is worth every up and down emotion you experience because reading this series is an experience in its own right...

The only way she saw out of the mess was to leave it all behind and give herself some time away to figure things out and let the two boys she loves the most heal their relationship with one another.
This whole book is centered on what Chloe wants, she is finally choosing. She realizes that Fate may play a roll but SHE has control over her future and what she wants out of life. Of course there is some drama, action, and gut punching moments but she is FINALLY coming to terms with her life and everything she wants out of it.
I watched her grow in this story and I fell even more in love with her character.
There were twists and turns I did not see coming, some I did and there were new characters introduced that I fell head over heels in love with. Some aheeemm steamy moments that I was sweating and loving and thinking FINALLY!!!!
Seriously phenomenal story telling!

I love the drama, sweet moments, and the whole concept of this series. I hope one day a big time producer reads this series and puts it on the big screen because I want to see it come to life. Can you guys imagine how phenomenal this series would be as a movie??

I picture it in my mind every time I sit down to read it.
I usually hate love triangles, seriously hate all the angst associated with them. The emotions are too much sometimes and I can't take it. But Heather does something amazing and intertwines the love triangle with magic, love, power, myths, legends, and makes reading it a little better to digest, even if it goes down really rough and heartbreaking, it still goes down and you are still a mess but at least you are enjoying the flavor.
There are times where I want to get off this carousel ride Heather puts me on because
I can't take it!!
I literally have to prepare myself before reading one of her books. I have to prep myself for the emotions that I am going to feel and the ups and down that are inevitably going to turn me into an insane person.
I want to take these characters from her and never give them back because she doesn't treat them right but at the same time I know she is doing this on purpose. She is a creative genius and I just have to suck it up and have faith that she knows what she is doing... HUMMPPHH!!
Even when I am impatient for a certain character to get his/her HEA..

I didn't want this book to end. I wanted it to keep going. I could have read it forever and never got tired of it.
I was SO MAD at the ending!!
I wanted to twat kick Heather really hard to make her feel the amount of pain my heart went through after I got to the end!
I was an emotional wreck and now I have to impatiently wait until March before the next book is out...
I want to tell her to take her time because I know books are not written in a day. But at the same time I want to be a selfish book trollop and tell her to HURRY the HELL up because she left my emotions unstable and I am not responsible for the emotional outbursts I will produce in the upcoming months due to her cliffhanger!!!
It's all your fault Heather, I love you and your books but DAMMIT I'm still mad at you!

My Take on the Book
Chloe is finally ready to live her life. Take responsibility for who and what she is, she is no longer along for the ride but holding onto the reigns. She knows what she wants and is prepared to go make a difference in her life.
This is the book #3, Chloe is no longer the teenager we meet in book 1. Nor is she willing to be a pawn in Fates game. Learning to live on her own, making friends and earning a living outside of the magical world teaches Chloe more about the world in six months then the previous twenty years.
Liked:
This is book #3 in the Fate series and I have to admit this is my favorite one so far. The growth of Chloe was masterfully written by Heather. The admittance of the sudo-family from Alaska made Chloe feel more real and brought her down to earth. I have to admit the resolution to the love triangle was the kicker for me that made this the greatest of the three books.
Disliked:
I read this book practically in one sitting. And in less then twenty-four hours. And it's just over 300 pages, now for the one dislike....I despise the ending. And if you know anything about my book reading habits and you read this book you will know why, has nothing to do with the writing, characters, or plot.
That is all I am going to say. Book 4 CANNOT come out soon enough.

As mentioned above, this is my favorite of the four books (there is a novella from Jonah's POV). There is resolution and build up for some action with the bad guys in book 4 that makes you chomp at the bit for the next book. The love interest and story is fresh and heart warming. Character development through the series is well developed.

This is an amazing series, and I would recommend this to all readers. With only one caveot which is one thing I loved in book 3, the heat level goes way way way up in book 3 (finally)!! So if you don't want heat or are looking for everything to stay outside of the bedroom door, then book 3 may not be for you. But if that doesn't bother you, GO GET THIS SERIES AND READ IT!!

I LOVED this book! This month has been full of great books for me and this was definitely one of them. I was heartbroken with the way the last book ended. (No spoilers, I promise!)
Chloe is such an interesting character, you can't help but fall in love with her. She has to make grown up choices that no new adult should have to make. I admire her compassion in these books.
There were old characters as well as some awesome new additions in this installment. I actually think this one might be my favorite of all of them.
Then there are the guys, *sigh*. I heart Jonah and Kellan. I'm team Jonah all the way.
If you haven't read this series, start with A Matter of Fate. You will fall for the series just like I did. This book is hands down getting five glittery stars from me.

I don't even know how to start this review. I am still overcome by all the emotions that Heather has once again managed to evoke in me. I got this one for review quite awhile ago and to be quite honest- I was terrified to read it. The first two books in this series opened the floodgates to my emotions and my heart wasn't ready to FEEL so much yet. I have never in my life read a series where I have been more emotionally invested in its characters as I have this one. Every feeling, every smile, every tear, every heartbreak the main character Chloe feels, I feel too. My heart has been so torn over this love triangle and I swear to you- it's the best one I've ever read. The series is about so much more than the romance though. It's about discovering your true self- what you can live with and what you can't live without, as well as a beautiful story of growing up.
A Matter of Truth is the third book in the Fate series and it picks up right after the previous book, A Matter of Heart, has left off. Chloe has been traveling a difficult road and it has come to the point where everything has completely spiraled out of control. This is a story of her reclaiming that control and making the decision to not let Fate dictate her life anymore.
"Connections are all about whom you belong with. But I'm tired of Fate thinking it can dictate that to me. If I belong to someone, and that person, in turn, belongs to me, it's going to be because we choose to give ourselves like that, not because some nebulous universal concept deems it so."
Fate has dealt her a crappy hand by giving her not one, but TWO Connections (which are essentially soulmates). Those Connections come in the form of twin brothers, Jonah and Kellan Whitecomb. Jonah and Kellan have always been close, as they have their own connection to one another. They are both Emotionals and can communicate without words. Their sibling bond has always been a strong one. Chloe witnesses firsthand that bond deteriorating and she is devastated that she is hurting so many others and believes perhaps they would be better off if she were not in the picture.
This book is all about Chloe's journey to self-discovery and we really see her develop and grow as a character. Chloe irritated me a bit in the previous books because she could be selfish and immature, but by the end of this book I viewed Chloe in such a different light. I am so proud of the girl she's become and I love that she is finally taking responsibility and making her own choices. Not everyone is happy with those choices, but I personally respect that she's making them once and for all.
"People are wrong about Connections. Connections don't define you. Having a partner doesn't define you. Love doesn't define you. You have to do that yourself. You have to decide who you are, what you want, and where you want to go. But when you do find somebody you want to share your life with, it needs to be for the right reasons."
We are introduced to some very important characters in A Matter of Truth. I was hesitant to meet them, but wow. They are probably two of my very favorites! We have Will Dane, who has become Chloe's confidant, her rock, and a very dear friend to her. They have such a special friendship- both of them are hurting and they really lean on and take solace in one another. She loves that she found Will on her own and that Fate had no say in it whatsoever. Chloe has been keeping who she is a secret from Will- she wants to let him in, but talking about her past is so painful for her. He doesn't force her to open up, but once she does- he asks her the hard questions- he forces her to examine her choices and perspective and I had so much respect for him. Will plays a large role in this storyline and his world is completely rocked to the core. I feel it's going to work out in his favor, but wow. I didn't see some of those twists coming!
We also meet Will's dad, Cameron. I absolutely fell in love with him also. Cameron is the father figure Chloe never had. He believes in her, wants the best for her, and treats her as his own daughter. Will and Cameron are 100% there for Chloe and they welcome them into their family and with open arms with ZERO hesitation and there were a few scenes I got teary-eyed at how beautiful that was. Chloe's own parents have never been nurturing, loving parents and she is so overwhelmed at how quickly and willingly they accept her as their own.
Chloe also has developed friendships with a steady group of people she works with who really care about her.
Yet, as wonderful as these new people are, Chloe only has fleeting moments of happiness with them. Her heart has been ravaged by the past and she can never let those feelings of utter pain and heartbreak go. Jonah and Kellan are never far from her mind and she especially can't stop dreaming about one in particular. Losing them both has made her so desperate for even the smallest hint of how they are and even though she wants them to be happy, she is completely wrecked.
To add insult to injury, the Elders are back- but this time Chloe must defeat them without the help of the Guard or the Counsel. We find out some very interesting things about the Elders and what Chloe can do in relation to them. I cannot wait to see what happens on that front next! Not only are the Elders back, but Jens Belladonna and Sophie Greenfield make appearances that really leave you left bereft and wondering what their angles are.
Jonah and Kellan. Oh boy. Where do I start? I love both of these guys so so much and I hate everything they have gone through. Both have so much love for Chloe and not being with her absolutely destroys them both. Both handle that very differently. Kellan is used to being without Chloe and he tends to wear his pain more on his sleeve that Jonah does. Jonah internalizes everything and lets it build to the point where he forgets to take care of himself. Losing Chloe shatters him and he does not handle it well at all. I am not surprised by some of the decisions he makes in regards to his and Chloe's relationship in this book at all.
"You tore me apart," he continues, "but you absolutely gutted my brother."
I am completely satisfied with the turn of events in this book in regards to the romance. I felt it was time for Chloe to make her choice and when she did I honestly felt it was the right one. I hate that one has to endure the pain of losing her, but I have hope Heather is going to take care of this in the right way and I look forward to seeing how she resolves everything in the final book. I am definitely still afraid, as ANYTHING can happen, but I completely trust Heather to stay true to her heart, as well as her characters, about which direction this story should go.
However, my heart is STILL a-flutter over the last 1/4 of the book and I thought it would burst with emotion.
"You're more to me than just my Connection. You're the person I'd want to be with even if there were no Connection."
"I actually do wish I had the power to break our Connection so I could show you that, even without it and Fate and everything else out there, I would still choose you,---------. You're who I want. You're who I need."
I just don't know how to convey to you all how much you need to read this series. Heather is such a talented author- her writing is beautiful and you are immediately drawn in to this fantastical world and its beautiful, poignant characters. An emotionally charged read that opens your heart to so many varying emotions, A Matter of Truth is an excellent addition to the Fate series and I cannot wait to see where the journey will lead us next!

My Thoughts:
Every single book in the fate series has been phenomonal, and A Matter of Truth was no different! The title of this book was so fitting, because this story is all about the truths that the main character, Chloe Lilywhite, discovers for herself. The character growth that she goes through from the beginning to the end of this story is extraordinary.
A Matter of Truth begins where A Matter of Heart left off. Chloe is under a tremendous amount of stress from her job, as a "creator." She can't deal with the fact that identical twins, Jonah and Kellan, her "connections," once close relationship has fallen apart, due to the fact that they are both in love with her. Chloe has a "connection" with both brothers, and is constantly torn apart by guilt, and the fact that she's causing pain to the brother that she didn't choose to be with.
Chloe ends up running away from her problems, by moving to Alaska, reinventing herself, and getting a job as a waitress at a small diner called, "Moose on the Loose." As Chloe begins a new life, without Jonah and Kellan, she misses both of them desperately, but believes strongly that she's made the right decision to leave them both behind. In Anchorage, she makes new friends at the diner she works at, and becomes like an adopted sister to Will, who is the cook at the diner, along with his father Cameron, and eventually moves in with them. As time passes, even though her new friendships strengthen, she feels like a hole is in her heart, and she starts to realize that even though she is in love with both Jonah and Kellan, their is only one of the brothers' that she cannot live without. Things get complicated with the reappearance of the "elders" powerful and sinister "magical" enemies, and trackers that are trying to locate Chloe, and bring her back to Annar, (The plane where most of the magicals reside.) Chloe's life begins to get complicated, and she begins to realize that running away does not solve her problems.
I really enjoyed A Matter of Truth! I felt so bad for Chloe, and the unique challenges that she had to endure, while fate dictated her job as a "creator," and her love life, by giving her connections to both Jonah and Kellan. Chloe went from playing a passive role in her life, by running away from her friends and the loves of her life, to becoming a stronger individual. She empowered herself. Her best friend, Will, was critical to her progress of becoming stronger, and he was a loyal friend. I really enjoyed his character, and background story. The colorful cast of beloved secondary characters in this series made a reappearance in A Matter of Truth. The ending was a huge cliffhanger that just about shocked me, and has me already pining for the next book in the fate series.
My Rating:
A Matter of Truth was a great story that was filled with excitement, suspense, intrigue, and mostly a journey in which the main character, Chloe, sought and found the answers to her challenges while she ran away from her life. I missed the interactions between Jonah, Kellan, and Chloe early in the story. It took about 50% of the book until the twins made a reappearance in the story, but I understand that Chloe needed to be on her own to grow stronger, and mature. I give, A Matter of Truth, 4.5 Longing, Loving, Suspenseful, Epiphany-Filled Stars! Read this series! It is AMAZING!!!!

The ending was a huge cliffhanger that just about shocked me, and has me already pining for the next book in the fate series.
My Rating:
A Matter of Truth was a great story that was filled with excitement, suspense, intrigue, and mostly a journey in which the main character, Chloe, sought and found the answers to her challenges while she ran away from her life. I missed the interactions between Jonah, Kellan, and Chloe early in the story. It took about 50% of the book until the twins made a reappearance in the story, but I understand that Chloe needed to be on her own to grow stronger, and mature. I give, A Matter of Truth, 4.5 Longing, Loving, Suspenseful, Epiphany-Filled Stars! Read this series! It is AMAZING!!!!

Sometimes you read a book or series that you become so wrapped up in, you forget what reality is when you're finished. This is what the Fate Series does to me. It is such a progressive story and A Matter of Truth is all about the journey. More specifically, Chloe's journey as she finally comes into her own and says "F U" to fate. This book was an incredible third installment to the series and it spent the first half ripping me to pieces and the second half piecing them back together. My emotions during this book were THAT intense.
Chloe is a highly emotional girl and her emotions generally control her life and her decisions. She truly has a big heart and every choice and decision she has ever made was with good intentions, no matter how bad the decision was. A Matter of Truth starts off with her currently living with the biggest decision she's ever made. If you've read A Matter of Heart, you know what I'm talking about and you are probably still reeling from the anguish of what happened. While she's accumulated a fantastic group of friends and become a part of Will and Cameron's family, it's obvious she is still very torn by everything that has happened. Fate has been a real bitch to Chloe and I hurt for the pain she suffers daily from the life she has to live. She wants to stop hurting the boys she loves and she wants to be normal just once. I don't blame her one bit, she is so young to have to face the life expected of her in Annar and she has never really had the option to choose. Choose who she wants to be, choose what she wants to do, choose who she loves.
“I wish I could smile more often. Real smiles are so hard to come about anymore. I’d give my left foot to be able to feel pleasure without it being extraordinary or alcohol-induced.”
My favorite moment in this book is when Chloe realizes that she can't change who she is or what she was born to do but she can take control and decide how she handles it herself. She finally decides not to let fate control her anymore and that shows her growth and strength. I've never been prouder of Chloe than I was in that moment. She also made a decision regarding Jonah and Kellan and she held her ground and didn't waver. I could see how hard it was for her to stand behind her decision and not revert back to her old ways but this just proved that she has grown into a stronger and more confident woman. She finally knows what and who SHE wants, fate be damned. I felt like Chloe has finally found herself in a good place for the first time since Jonah and Kellan walked into her life but there are definitely people and forces out there that threaten the life she is finally able to build. The Elders are back and they have plans for Chloe. The ending was heart stopping and I may die of anticipation for the final book.

There are new characters including Will, Cameron, Frieda, Paul and Ginny. These are the friends that Chloe meets and they help make her life just a little easier while she is dealing with the changes she has made. Will and Cameron are especially important and they become the family she never had. Cameron is more of a father to her then her own ever was and I was so glad she met him and Will. Will is like a brother and he is instrumental in helping Chloe grow and strengthen. I was nervous that I wouldn't like Will after the end of A Matter of Heart but he was nothing like I was expecting and I did a complete 360 when it came to him. I may be in love with him now. There is a spark between him and Callie and I am excited to see where Heather will take that. Sophie the psycho is also back and she is more bitter than ever. I definitely think she is going to play an important role in the final book and there will be some strife caused by her. I have some speculations that I hope to God are wrong but only time will tell.

I love these books something fierce. A Matter of Truth is no exception in another heart wrenching, emotional filled story of love, family and finding your truth. In this book, Chloe has ran off to Alaska to figure out things, figure out how to live her life how she wants but still be able to handle the responsibilities that are required of her. It is no small matter, the weight of the world Chloe deals with and while in most cases, I really hate when characters run away, but in this- I got it. It made sense. She needed to do something in order for her to deal with everything that has essentially, been dumped on her.
"How do you know whether you made the right choice?"
My emotions were all over the place as I read this book. These are the types of books where you are so emotionally charged you have to physically take a break because you feel like Chloe, like you are going to break. In AMOT, though, there were so many sweet moments. Moments filled with love and comfort of finding your people. Life doesn't mean a whole lot without your people, the ones that love you regardless of circumstances and will be there to no matter what. I fell in love with how Chloe not only finds her family but also finds how meaningful a family can be, wether they are a blood relation or not.

I was also so proud of Chloe for finding her truth. Her truth. Not the truth that is expected of her. Not the truth she thinks she should have. Not the truth of the worlds, but the truth that lives deep inside her soul. Her truth that is not influenced by fate, but rather by her choice. To see Chloe find that truth, love, family, it just gives me all the warm fuzzy feelings inside. I was also proud of Chloe for not only realizing her trurth but knowing that her journey isn't over and it still won't be easy. It will be hard but I think Chloe has figured it out it will be worth it. There are also some really great things in this book. Will. Oh Will. I didn't think it was possible for Heather to write even more characters for me to fall in love with but I was so wrong! Will and Cameron and the whole gang she has in Alaska is amazing!!!

You get to see more Chloe, Jonah, and Kellan in this book and there moments where my heart was ripped out. I was sad and happy and felt all the love in this book! I understood Chloe's actions. That was the most important, was understanding Chloe for me in this book. Did I swoon every time Kellan made an appearance....yes...yes I did. But this book, for me, was all about Chloe. Will, Jonah and Kellan- all great bonuses!!! :)
"I want to be able to come home and lean on you. Know that you've got my back. I want to be the same for you. I want us to be lovers. Best friends. Partners. Because, it's you I want."
Then of course the ending......with wide eyes I had to read it a few times and then throw out a few curse words and then calmly tell myself that I will burn the worlds down if this doens't end well!!
Overall, Heather Lyons takes every day words and weaves them into an enchanting heart filled story of a girl trying to find her truth, trusting in herself and having the courage to live the life she wants to live. You can't help but fall in love with these books, these characters, and this family Heather has created.

My emotions were all over the place as I read this book. A Matter of Truth picks up right where A Matter of Heart ended. Chloe is trying to make a new life from herself in Alaska. While she is still struggling with with her decision to flee her old life, she slowly finds herself and discovers what she truly wants and who she wants to be. Upon making this discovery, the elders have made their return...........
There are so many things I loved about this book. I loved how Chloe finally owned up to her mistakes and took the steps to fix things. Chloe actually thought things through this time. She has truly matured throughout this series.
There were moments in this book that completely broke my heart. I think I fell more in love with Jonah. He didn't give in and let Chloe off the hook easily. And I was so proud of Chloe for not repeating her past mistakes and running off with Kellan, because Jonah rejected her. I think that really shows how much Chloe has changed. I loved that Jonah and Chloe took time to rebuild their fragile relationship and didn't let fate dictate things. I know before I wasn't sure if I was Team Kellan or Team Jonah, but I must say after reading this book, I am definitely Team Jonah. There definitely was some HOT and swoon worthy moments with Chloe and Jonah. I am so happy with the way things turned out for them and I so hope that they finally get their happily ever after!!
And Kellan, he was ready to forgive Chloe and so desperately hoped that she would try to have a real relationship with him. But in the end, he ultimately understood that even though they love one another and they share a connection, it is nothing like what Chloe and Jonah share. And somethings, you just can't fight. I hope over time, they can find a way to all be apart of one another's lives and that some day Kellan can have some real happiness.
We got to meet a few new characters in this book. Will and his father were amazing. They were exactly what Chloe needed in her life. So accepting and immediately took Chloe in and made her apart of their family.
As with the other books in this series, there is no shortage of action, twists and heart-pounding/breath holding moments. The heartache, love and friendship is so real in this book, that it feels as if it is your own. I have come to love this series more and more with each book and I have to say this is my favorite so far!!! I devoured this book and couldn't put it down!
And the ending of this book.......holy cliffhanger!!! I can not wait to see where things will go next!!!!

HOLY FREAKIN CRAP!!!!!!

Ok...So, I laugh now because when I read book one of this series I almost didn't think I could get through it. Not because it wasn't well written or contained a great story line. No, it was because it centered around a love trianlge. AND UGH!!! I just don't like them...
Getting caught up in the angst and getting angry at the decisions is just not my cup of tea...
BUT...this is one series that I am so thankful I didn't follow my own rules.
Heather Lyons has knocked my socks off and with her latest release, AMOT, I literally could not put it down.
From start to finish we follow Chloe and and discover just how much she has grown. She has had to deal with so much over the time we have met her and needless to say, she didn't always make the best decisions. Yep, that is why she put me through hell with her crazy indecisiveness. I get and understand her problems...but I am so glad that she striking out on her own was the best decision she has ever made. This gave her the time she needed to really think. She was able to reflect on what went wrong in her life and decide how she wanted to proceed with her future. I have to say that after AMOT, I am very proud of who she is becoming.
An exciting factor is that when Chloe is gaining her independence she meets and becomes very close to Will. I absolutely love the Irish guy that really puts it to Chloe. He doesn't take her crap and tells her like it is when she wants to crawl under the bed and cry.
He brought so much to the story and his humor kept me looking out for him in every scene.
He truly was the brother Chloe never had...
But I guess you are now wondering about that love trianlge...I know you have seen that I am #TeamJonah. And since this is book 3 I will not divulge any details but I can say Jonah and Kellan have grown just as much as Chloe has.
So, AMOT is a tale of self-discovery, truths, and growth. These amazing characters take us on a journey full of suspense, action, passion, angst, and joys...I highly recommend you read this book and of course the series if you haven't started it..

If you’ve read my reviews for A Matter of Fate, A Matter of Heart and Beyond Fate, it’s no secret that this series and these characters have gotten under my skin and, in some cases, made themselves at home in my heart. So, it shouldn’t surprise you that this story continued the trend…capturing me once again.
The title of this book is particularly fitting as, in reality, it’s all about truth…the truth of accepting one’s feelings, the truth of breaking someone’s heart, the truth of deciding to move forward, the truth of facing your fears. So much happens in this story that I fear I’ll give something away and I don’t want to do that. But I do need to somehow make you pick up and read these books – ah, a blogger’s dilemma!
Once again, Heather Lyons has woven a captivating and heart-wrenching tale. Her characters continue to face the external dangers of evil that threaten to destroy their kind and the internal emotional turmoil of both building and breaking relationships that matter. She brings back all the characters we’ve grown to love (and, in some cases, hate) and also introduces us to a few new ones just to spice things up. Chloe becomes a stronger person in this book. She looks Fate in the eye and finally takes what she wants. This will make some readers happy and others will be devastated. I wish I could tell you which camp I’m in but, alas, that is undoubtedly a spoiler. So, I must move on to tell you that I absolutely fell head over heels for Will…a new character who is brave and true, funny, tortured and, lucky for us, hot! The addition of this character gave Chloe exactly what she needed…a best friend and a partner in crime. Chloe’s “family” continues to grow and the support she needs to fight this war is finally in place. And the anticipation of what’s coming next is killing me.

The addition of this character gave Chloe exactly what she needed…a best friend and a partner in crime. Chloe’s “family” continues to grow and the support she needs to fight this war is finally in place. And the anticipation of what’s coming next is killing me.
This book is a roller coaster of emotions. Like the others before it, I was drawn to the characters and their struggles. I cheered, I saw red, I cried, I laughed, I sighed, I cried (wait, did I already say that?!?). And now I have to wait until the next installment, a wait I am not looking forward to at all but one that I’ll endure because I know the next book will undoubtedly be worth it!
The title of this book is particularly fitting as, in reality, it’s all about truth…the truth of accepting one’s feelings, the truth of breaking someone’s heart, the truth of deciding to move forward, the truth of facing your fears. So much happens in this story that I fear I’ll give something away and I don’t want to do that. But I do need to somehow make you pick up and read these books – ah, a blogger’s dilemma!
Once again, Heather Lyons has woven a captivating and heart-wrenching tale. Her characters continue to face the external dangers of evil that threaten to destroy their kind and the internal emotional turmoil of both building and breaking relationships that matter. She brings back all the characters we’ve grown to love (and, in some cases, hate) and also introduces us to a few new ones just to spice things up. Chloe becomes a stronger person in this book. She looks Fate in the eye and finally takes what she wants. This will make some readers happy and others will be devastated. I wish I could tell you which camp I’m in but, alas, that is undoubtedly a spoiler. So, I must move on to tell you that I absolutely fell head over heels for Will…a new character who is brave and true, funny, tortured and, lucky for us, hot! I LOVE this series, I honestly recommend it to EVERYONE! It doesnt matter if you are looking for a contemporary, fantasy, paranormal, everything... go read this series now!
The best part about this series (other then Kellan of course) is the fact that is honestly incorperates a little bit of everything so that it can be read and enjoyed by everyone. However, with each book it moves a littler further away from the YA to NA simply because they are getting holder.
This book started a little slow. I almost want to say it was information overload, but it really wasnt. I think I have just begun to expect so many things that I was simply not used to the pace that the book was going. But that didn't last long!
This book introduces us to Will, and I was SO looking forward to meeting him... he is a complicated character and I still think there is so much we don't qite know about him but I love him regardless... he is definitly by number 2 book bf in the Fate Series books!
Jonah, well he's Jonah... I am really nto a fan of him but in this one I think I finally figured out WHY I don't like him. He is so immature! I can't even get into all the reasons that made me think that, but Jonah just needs to put on his big boy pants and MAN UP! Stop sulking and pouting and GAH! I NEED MORE KELLAN!
Overall this was another fantastic book by Heather Lyons, I spent half the book terrified that something awful was going to happen... and then that ENDING! OH MY GOD! I wanted to throw my phone at the wall because I was so mad at that cliffhanger! Alas, I did not throw my phone... I did however take to twitter to express my outrage with the ending and I tried to get answer... Heather wouldnt tell me anything though :'(

First off I have to say that Heather Lyons has created a series that totally blew my mind away. Every time I read one of the books in the series whether it was the novella's or the books itself I get carried away to another world where I just don't want to leave. Lord the ups and downs in this book took me by storm but what I loved the most was that through all the crap Chloe had to endure she never gave up. In AMOT Chloe grew up and she did what she had to do. She made decisions that were hard but she knew she needed to make them and she stuck by her guns and did what she was supposed to do what was right for her.
Chloe is in Alaska paving out her own life with no intrusions or instructions or influences from anyone. She is living the life she wants and making her own decisions and yes at times it is hard but she knows she needs to do it. She knows she loves Jonah and she has the connection with Kellan but she knows she will have to chose one. She knows that the magic world is coming for her and they are coming soon but she is determined to make her own decisions.
The elders are pissed off and they are coming for Chloe with a vengeance. They want Chloe to make a choice and she better chose what they want or there will be hell to pay. Plus that pesky Jens is something else. Lord he is a force to be reckoned with. What he does to Chloe will have you saying WTF WTH what is he doing and what is he talking about........
I have to say that as the series continues I need book four like yesterday because the ending had me reeling and screaming at my kindle like a loony person. I actually yelled what in the bloody hell!

I want to start out by saying that I did enjoy this book and Heather Lyons is still one of my favorite authors and I will always read anything that she writes. But, this book made me feel incredibly conflicted. Actually, I think I have felt conflicted throughout this entire series thus far. I hate love triangles in most books, but in this series I found this particular love triangle riveting. In A Matter of Fate, I was rooting for Jonah. In A Matter of Heart, I was inexplicably drawn to Kellan. In this book I was also on team Kellan and I found myself unmistakably disappointed with Chloe's feelings towards each brother. I felt like she was annoyingly repetitive in convincing herself that Jonah was "the best person I know." I think she used this exact phrase at least 5 times to describe how she feels about Jonah. However, I did think the plot and story line in this book was fantastic. It had conflict and plot twists and really good dialogue. I was overall impressed with the entirety of this book, I was just super disappointed in who Chloe ends up choosing because it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Also I understand that there is going to be another book in this series and I feel like now that this love triangle has been resolved (or at least that's how it appears) I'm not exactly sure how I will feel about it. I feel like the love triangle has been a huge central plot of this series and if it is truly resolved, then which direction will the series take? I guess I just feel like I, as a reader, was not ready for this issue to actually be resolved and I found myself wishing for something to happen to complicate things again. (Am I a horrible masochist for feeling this way?)

It is obvious to see how obsessed with this series I have become (look at my gif's). Heather has created a univerise that you just don't read about, you live it! I feel these characters should be on my contacts list. This is the book where Chloe finally takes control of her own fate. She emerges from a somewhat immature "girl" to a determine and self assured woman. We are introduced to the amazing Will as he bonds with Chloe on her quest to find her true self. Of course, the story wouldn't be complete without my sweet Kellan and Jonah! It's pretty obvious that I will always be "Team Kellan," but I have come to really adore Jonah! That is what is so unique about this series...you love everybody! It's impossible not to love these two amazing, sexy men! Their hearts and souls are tied to Chloe and both deserve happiness and her love.
There are no words that can adequately describe my feelings while reading this book but here are a few; angst, devastation, adoration, love, absolute heart break. This is the first non-death book that brought me tears. Heather is the only person who can rip my heart to shreds and have me love every minute! No matter which brother you adore the most, you will LOVE every minute of this book! I shall wait on bated breath until 2014 to see where Heather takes our friends. I have absolutely no idea how this journey will end for these amazing characters! I am just fortunate to take the ride :-)

First I received an ARC and my review will go up closer to the release date.
Second, I don't think I have been this obsessed about something in a long time. Heather is amazing! This series is sooo good! I read A Matter of Truth in less than 24 hours- and it is a long book. I've become addicted to this Magical world. Just absolutely amazing another book from Heather that "wows" me.
In A Matter of Truth we are taken through the many emotions that Chloe experiences in order to find herself and the truth within. I believe the need Chloe had to run away was absolutely necessary to create a balance and be able to do something all on her own without judgment from watching eyes. But no matter what, time catches up to her (being the Creator) and puts her new friends and family in danger. Chloe becomes awe-inspiring in her act to protect and fight with any means needed. And not only is she dealing with the Elders but she is also missing a piece of herself- her connections.
What do you say to the two most important people in your life when you’re reunited after up and leaving without a trace 6 months ago?
Chloe must go through the motions to put her life back together in Annar and be the Creator that everyone needs her to be. And what she finally learns is that even though Fate plays a part in her life she still gets to choose her future.

This book finished with a bang and I. Was. Pissed. I wanted MORE!!!!!!
I will confess that A Matter of Heart, the second book in the series, had me pretty frustrated. Not to go into too much spoiler detail, but I really wanted to shake Chloe by the shoulders and scream, "What are you doing??"
Well this book just blew me away, and truly progressed the story in a very satisfying way. Chloe grows up. People communicate with each other. There's some pretty hot hanky-panky. The Elders are back and scarier than ever. And, there's Will....oh yeah, he's new. And gorgeous. And funny. And sweet. And well muscled, I imagine...but I digress.
I loved all of it, and am so excited to find out what happens next.... any day now. Tick Tock, Ms. Lyons!

I can sum up my feelings on A Matter of Truth .... LOVE. AMOT is my favorite book in the series. Full of everything I need from Chloe AMOT picks up where AMOH left off and gives us all an opportunity to gain respect for someone we may not have loved in the first two books. I know,Chloe is our heroine but she's really needed to grow up and in AMOT she does that. Her truth comes out and she becomes the young woman we all knew and hoped she would become.
Heather has picked beautiful Alaska as our backdrop for this amazing story of self discovery, friendship, family and love. Taking the journey with Chloe will only make you countdown until book 4 is released and we see the woman Chloe becomes.

This is probably my favourite of the four books in the Fate series. It has love and loss and forgiveness and truth.It has the closure I needed from the first two in the series. Chloe, Jonah, and Kellan finally get what they need. My heart practically exploded by the end.

Another great one! I couldn't put it down. My only complaint is that it ended! The writing is flawless, the story is unique, and the characters are amazing.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this one!!!! Even more than the last two. I loved where Heather took this book. It was perfect! I love all the new characters too. Cannot wait until the next book comes out!!!

Great read. Gobbled this one up. I loved everything but the cliffhanger at the end! This book moved much quicker than the last one.
